DELAWARE — The City of Delaware is seeking public input on a series of proposed pedestrian safety improvements designed to make walking and rolling safer while strengthening connections throughout the community.
The City, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 6, is proposing improvements at six locations along West William Street/U.S. 36, South Sandusky Street, and London Road.
The projects will close gaps in the City’s existing sidewalk and shared-use path network and install new ADA-compliant curb ramps at key pedestrian crossings, improving accessibility for residents and visitors of all ages and abilities.
Residents are encouraged to review the proposed improvements and view the project location map before submitting comments.
Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated to take place between late 2026 and 2027. Construction is currently expected to begin in 2028, with project completion anticipated in 2029.
The City is accepting public comments through September 8, 2026. Feedback received by that date will be included in the official project documentation, although comments will continue to be accepted throughout the project.
