DELAWARE — The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at Ohio Wesleyan University will offer 12 classes this fall, exploring such topics as creating and learning about watercolor paintings, understanding memory loss, and examining the engineering secrets of ancient, medieval, and Renaissance architectural marvels.
For a flat fee of $75, Delaware County residents 55 and older are able to take as many courses as they wish during the fall session, which runs Oct. 5-Nov. 13, 2026.
Volunteer experts, including retired Ohio Wesleyan professors, teach the courses in a non-competitive environment. All sessions will be held in-person unless otherwise noted.
Scheduled fall classes are:
- Reel to Real: Hollywood Dark Truths, taught at The Strand Theatre, with screenings of:
- “Hollywoodland” (2026)
- “The Black Dahlia” (2026)
- “Mulholland Falls” (1996)
- Create & Learn: Watercolors at the Ross!
- Everything You Wanted to Know About Memory Loss But Forgot to Ask
- My Life As… featuring career discussions
- Tuesday LLI Potpourri, with single-topic sessions on topics including:
- “The Future for Ohio’s Older Adults”
- “These are the Times that Try Men’s Souls (America and Great Britain in 1776)”
- “A Look Back at Ohio Wesleyan via Films and Videos from the 1950s to 1980s”
- “Sherwood Rowland, OWU Class of 1948, The Mastermind”
- Without a Net: Ancient, Medieval and Renaissance Architectural Marvels and Their Engineering Secrets
- Emerson, Thoreau, and Their Concord Circle: America’s First Counter-Culture Movement
- Branch Rickey: Baseball’s Ferocious Gentleman
- Raise Your Spirits, featuring brewery and winery tours
- Thursday LLI Potpourri, with single-topic sessions on topics including:

Online, mail, and telephone registration for the spring session runs through 5 p.m. Sept. 25. Thanks to support from SourcePoint, the Lifelong Learning Institute is able to offer a limited number of $50 scholarships this spring. Scholarship applications must be submitted on or before Sept. 23.
