DELAWARE — The Barons will have a new divisional home this fall.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association released its divisional breakdown for the 2026 football season and Buckeye Valley will drop to Division IV, Region 15.

The Barons competed in Region 11 of Division III last fall and won an opening-round playoff game. Buckeye Valley fell in the regional quarterfinals to Steubenville.

The area’s other six teams will all stay put.

Hayes, Olentangy, Liberty, Orange and Berlin will all remain in Region 3 of Division I. Orange won the regional and state championship last fall after Liberty ran the route in 2024.

Big Walnut will again compete in Region 7 of Division II. The Golden Eagles have won the Region 7 championship each of the past two years.

Ohio high school football’s summer period, when teams are allowed up to 13 practices, runs from May 15 to July 31. Practice begins Aug. 1 and the season kicks off Aug. 21.
