DELAWARE COUNTY — Shortly after midnight, Friday, August 14, 9-1-1 received a call from a Bean Oller Road resident indicating shots fired in or near their home.
The caller said his wife had been shot. Within minutes, shortly after first responders’ arrival, the victim was transported to the hospital.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to assist Delaware County Sheriff’s detectives with processing the crime scene. Detectives are speaking with interested parties as part of the investigation. This incident is being investigated as a possible homicide.
Several hours later, the 55-year-old female victim died from apparent gunshot wounds. Identification of the victim is not being released yet, pending full family notification.
Multiple agencies responded to this ongoing incident including: the police departments of Delaware, Powell, and Sunbury, the State Highway Patrol, and Liberty Township Fire.
