POWELL — It was a tough night at Patriot Stadium for the home team, which was overmatched by Cleveland Glenville in a 34-13 verdict.
The Tarblooders opened with a 13-0 advantage and never looked back.
Glenville won their third state championship in the past four years in Division IV last December.
It was announced this week that Coach Ted Ginn Sr’s program was put on probation by the OHSAA for holding padded practices before Aug. 1.
Regardless, the Tarblooders brought their best to Olentangy Liberty Friday night, including Ohio State CB target Jaylen Edwards.
After trailing 27-0 through the first three quarters, Liberty got on the board in the fourth period to avert the shutout.
Glenville (1-1) will Bishop Watterson next week while Liberty (0-2) will seek its first win at home against Gahanna Lincoln.
