For Jon Lindahl, starting his own business wasn’t a sudden leap, it was an idea that followed him for many years, until the time was right.
In early 2026, when he decided it was finally time to open his own Title & Escrow Company, one of his first calls was to Community Manager Laurie Ledon at COhatch Delaware.
Lindahl first began working from COhatch in 2019 while managing a Delaware satellite office for another title company. At a later job based in downtown Columbus, he again became a member, spending most of his work time at COhatch locations in Delaware and around Central Ohio.
“I always knew that if I ever opened my own title company, it would be here at COhatch,” Lindahl said.
A community at COhatch
Ledon takes great pride in her job position, always there to help someone make a business connection, plan an event, put together a breakfast bar, or simply introduce two people who might have something in common.
Over the years, fellow COhatch members have become friends, resources, referral partners, and even Scioto Title clients.
“The space is warm, welcoming, and accessible, but what really keeps me here are the people,” Mortgage Lender of First Federal Stephen Harless said. “I’ve built relationships that have turned into business opportunities, community involvement, and lasting partnerships.”
Another great advantage COhatch provides is the ability to work in multiple offices. He is able to reserve workspace and closing rooms at locations throughout Central Ohio, allowing him to meet clients closer to where they live or work.
On a recent morning, Lindahl had a closing at the Westerville COhatch. He arrived early, opened his laptop, and worked until his clients arrived. The conference room, Wi-Fi, printers, and other essential business tools he needed to conduct the closing were already there.
Another day might take him to Easton, Polaris, or any number of other COhatch locations before he eventually returns to his office in Delaware.
For someone whose work revolves around bringing people together to complete major real estate transactions, that flexibility has become part of the experience he wants Scioto Title to provide. It’s professional, but not institutional. Flexible, but still personal.
COhatch gives Lindahl a place where he doesn’t have to build his business entirely alone.
Experience and trust behind every closing
Scioto Title is an independent title agency that provides residential and commercial real estate title insurance and closing services throughout Central Ohio to buyers & sellers, mortgage lenders, real estate agents, investors, brokers, builders, and developers.
The company also provides Owner’s and Lender’s Policies of Title Insurance, which protect parties in residential and commercial transactions from issues such as hidden title defects, liens, or ownership disputes and represents the largest and most respected underwriters in the nation, including Chicago Title Insurance Company, First American Title Insurance Company, Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Westcor Land Title Insurance Company, and WFG National Title Insurance Company.
Scioto Title serves as a third-party intermediary between the individuals and organizations involved in the transaction by researching public records and work to identify mortgages, liens, or other title issues that need to be resolved before a property changes hands and handle funds, documentation, and coordinate the closing real estate agents and lenders.
For most people, that work may only become relevant a handful of times in their lives.
“It’s not like a coffee shop or favorite establishment that you are going into all the time,” Lindahl said. “You may see a title insurance company once or twice in your life, and then that’s it.”
That doesn’t mean the experience should feel transactional. Lindahl works hard to create a personal and custom experience with all of his clients.
It’s a philosophy that carries through not only in how he works, but in where he decided to build Scioto Title.
“Jon is one of my most trusted business partners because he always puts the client first. We met when he stopped what he was doing to help me avoid making a costly mistake on a transaction. That’s the kind of person Jon is,” Harless said.
Scioto Title is a Central Ohio-based, independent title and escrow agency dedicated to the highest level of service and closing experience. The company’s Delaware office is located in the COhatch Building at 18 E. William St. To learn more, visit their website or call 614-444-3300.
