MASON, Ohio — Three Delaware County girls will be in action Thursday when the Ohio High School Athletic Association girls tennis state tournament begins.
The two-day event kicks off Thursday morning at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason. Play begins at 9 a.m.
Berlin senior Soleil Cordell, the reigning Division I state singles champion, is back to defend her crown. Last year Cordell stopped Hudson’s Emma Liu 6-2, 6-4 in the finals.
This year Cordell has been unbeatable at 27-0, and is a heavy favorite to repeat. Incredibly, the Bears’ superstar has not lost a single set in a spectacular season. She only lost one set last year while also going undefeated.
Cordell’s state tournament odyssey will begin against Centerville freshman Mia Trubee.
Meanwhile, the senior tandem of Aaria Gala and Zoe Haar will be representing Orange in the Division I doubles draw. They finished third in the Central District tournament.
Gala and Haar will begin play against Cincinnati Seton’s freshmen duo of Helena and Elle Finley.
The tournament draw for both Division I singles and doubles can be found below.

Tournament venue
The Lindner Family Tennis Center is home to the prestigious Cincinnati Open professional tournament. This past August, the 16-day event drew a record 300,288 fans. More information about the venue and the attendance record is available at: https://cincinnatiopen.com/
The Lindner Family Tennis Center recently underwent a $260 million renovation, with investment by the Cincinnati Open with the City of Mason, Warren County and the State of Ohio.
It brings the total number of outdoor courts at the venue to 31 while also adding a six-court indoor facility, pickleball and padel courts, new locker room facilities and a clubhouse that will be utilized year-round with a restaurant and function room space.
In the event of inclement weather, play will move to the new indoor courts on site at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.
In June of 2025, the OHSAA announced that its girls and boys tennis state tournaments would return to Lindner after a three-year hiatus. Lindner hosted the OHSAA tennis state tournaments from the fall of 2014 through the spring of 2022 before undergoing renovations.
The Ohio State University hosted the OHSAA girls and boys tennis state tournaments during the 2022-23 school year. The College of Wooster then hosted the events for the 2023-24 and 2024-25 school years.
