DELAWARE — Main Street Delaware’s November First Friday is a “Community Harvest” celebrating giving and civic engagement.
Generously sponsored by Newman Roofing, this First Friday will showcase Delaware County nonprofits and service organizations to help event-goers learn more about getting involved or accessing services in the community.
November’s First Friday will also feature a pie-eating contest at Fresh Start Café & Bakery, sponsored by First Federal Community Bank and The Modern Maid. If you think you’re Delaware’s fastest pie eater, step up to the table and compete for the title of Grand Champion in this unforgettable (and delicious!) event. Sign up at www.mainstreetdelaware.com/
Also, during the 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Nov. 6 First Friday celebration, the City of Delaware will display its paint-a-plow projects. The plows were decorated in partnership with local elementary schools to help the children develop their art skills and better understand the department’s work.
In addition, Main Street Delaware is proud to partner with the United to Fight Against Hunger project for its 2026 Thanksgiving Food Drive. Everyone is invited to bring 1-pound boxes of pasta to the downtown First Friday celebration or the following week, through Nov. 15. It’s also a battle of the businesses, with 13 participating; help your favorite win by donating. The business with the most collections will win a free Main Street Delaware membership next year! See the list of participating businesses and more details at www.mainstreetdelaware.com/
For the Nov. 6 event, Delaware County Transit will continue to extend its FLEX services until 10 p.m. Schedule a ride to and from the Delaware City locations you choose – that means door-to-door service! The fare is $2 each way, or $1 for those 65 and older and 18 and under.
Other upcoming Main Street Delaware events include:
- The 7th annual Friendsgiving will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 10 at The Oak & Brazen Wine Co. More details and tickets will be available soon at www.mainstreetdelaware.com. Friendsgiving is generously sponsored by Bolton Insurance Agency, Richwood Bank, and Scioto Title.
