The City of Delaware has several open board and commission seats they are looking to fill.
If you would like to get involved in your community and make a true difference, consider applying. These public bodies are vital to the operation of the City and ensure public involvement in the governmental process.
Each board’s membership provides feedback and direction to departments or the City Council on a variety of issues and several boards are also delegated with decision-making authority.
Openings and meeting times are listed below. Applications close May 15.

- Airport Commission, 3-year term, meets the Third Thursday of January, April, July and October at 6:30 PM
- Board of Zoning Appeals, 3-year term, meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM
- Historic Preservation Commission, 3-year term, meets the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 PM
- Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Second Ward (must live in the Second Ward), 3-year term, meets the third Tuesday of January, March, July, September, and November at 6:30 PM
- Shade Tree Commission, 3-year term, meets the fourth Tuesday of January, March, July, September, and November at 6:30 PM
- Sister City Advisory Board, 3-year term, meets the second Tuesday of January, April, July and October at 6:00 PM
- Income Tax Board of Review, 2-year term, meets as needed, The Board meets as needed to review income tax appeals. The member would be required to attend as-needed hearings. All hearings are held during regular business hours at City Hall. They last from thirty minutes to at most an hour. Knowledge of Ohio and/or Delaware municipal income tax is not required but is helpful.
