DELAWARE — The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two men for allegedly shooting a 55-year-old woman in her home on Bean Oller Road at 12:25 a.m. on Friday.

At 5:25 p.m. on Friday, the DCSO — with assistance from the multi-agency Delaware Tactical Unit — executed a search warrant in the city of Delaware.

Delaware residents Dajameous Payne, 21, and Christian Evans, 20, were taken into custody without incident.

“They were arrested on the charge of murder,” according to a DCSO press release.

“Additional charges may follow,” the release stated. “They were taken to the Delaware County Jail and will likely be arraigned on Monday.”

The DCSO identified the victim as Tamela D. Dutcher at 3:44 p.m. in an earlier statement.

Authorities also charged Tamela’s 18-year-old daughter, Bryanna Dutcher, with obstruction of justice, according to the arrest announcement.

The DCSO shared the following recap in Friday night’s statement:

“At 12:25 a.m., Friday, August 14, 9-1-1 received a call from a Bean Oller Road resident indicating shots were fired in or near his home,” DCSO said. “The caller said his wife had been shot.

“Within minutes, shortly after first responders’ arrival, the 55-year-old victim, Tamela Dutcher, was transported to the hospital, where she later passed.”

The DCSO is continuing its investigation into this homicide.
