DELAWARE — The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office has identified the 55-year-old woman who was fatally shot around midnight on Friday, Aug. 14.
Tamela D. Dutcher was shot and killed inside her home on Bean Oller Road, according to an update from the Sheriff’s Office.
“The Sheriff’s Office extends its condolences to the victim’s family and friends. Our investigation continues,” the update said.
The DCSO added it will provide more updates as the case progresses.
When the incident occurred, the 9-1-1 caller said his wife had been shot, and within minutes first responders arrived at the scene. Dutcher was transported to the hospital, according to a DCSO press release from Friday morning.

“The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation was called to assist Delaware County Sheriff’s detectives with processing the crime scene,” the release said. “Detectives are speaking with interested parties as part of the investigation.
“This incident is being investigated as a possible homicide.”
DCSO confirmed that the Delaware, Powell and Sunbury police departments responded, as well as State Highway Patrol and the Liberty Township Fire Department.
